Attorney Sam A. Byrd

I am attorney Sam Byrd, founding attorney of the Law Office of Sam Byrd, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I represent individuals throughout the Greater Chattanooga area in the full scope of criminal law matters.

I provide aggressive, proactive legal guidance for criminal defense law charges, DUI, divorce and family law matters. No matter what type of charge you are facing — it is highly advisable to be proactive.

I place an emphasis on providing highly personalized legal solutions — the kind that only result from long conversations with a client about objectives and options. I begin by listening carefully to your information on the case and by getting a sense of your goals in terms of an outcome.

If you select me to represent you, I will work directly with you from the initial consultation to the resolution of your case. You are not passed off to a legal assistant or junior attorney. That is an important distinction that makes a big difference when we need to argue your case in court. I am familiar with every fact and prepared to present a strong argument on your behalf.

If your case requires additional investigation, I have access to specialists who can strengthen your case. In many instances, the information that is uncovered helps us resolve your case without going to trial. I always aim for a cost-efficient resolution, but never at the expense of getting the best possible outcome for every client.

At the Law Office of Sam Byrd, I provide highly personalized legal representation.

My office is committed to providing clients with honest and zealous representation, along with regular communication. All telephone calls and electronic communication will be answered and returned promptly. The attorneys and staff at The Law Office of Sam Byrd know and understand that communication is important in every case.

I earned my law degree from the University of Memphis School of Law in Tennessee. Prior to earning my law degree I gained valuable experience working as a paralegal for the Law Office of Mitchell A. Byrd (my father, 1951-2011) in Chattanooga and The Law office of Larry Rice in Memphis. I gained additional experience working for the University of Memphis Child and Family Litigation Clinic. These experiences prepared me for my current focus as a criminal defense lawyer who strives to consistently protect the rights of my clients who have been charged with crimes.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a concentration in Legal Studies from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I served in the U.S. Marines following high school graduation from Red Bank in Chattanooga.
